Some of the self portraits I had done over a period of five years. It is good to look back and once again cherish the joy of playing and experimenting with Photoshop. "Self" is a changing property. It is not who we think we are, but what we can become. In a way, it is a paradox, because "self" is never "in itself" but often resides outside "itself"--according to M. Bakhtin, an "outsideness". It is a negotiated entity between those who perceive and the consciousness being perceived. The ownership is ambiguous, or multiple.
